Our skin changes throughout our lives. The hormonal changes that occur during and after the menopause, in particular, cause the skin to become thinner, drier and more sensitive. This results in dryness-related discomfort in the vagina and surrounding intimate area (vulva), known as vaginal dryness. This can lead to unpleasant and even painful symptoms, such as
- sensation of dryness
- burning, itching and soreness
- pain during sexual intercourse
- slight bleeding due to micro-tears
The sensitive skin in the intimate area therefore requires gentle, moisturising and regenerative daily care. Thanks to the intensive moisturising with hyaluronic acid, symptoms can be alleviated. To keep the vagina and vulva sufficiently moisturised, they require increasingly comprehensive additional care.
KadeHydro offers a range of options for vaginal dryness – tailored to the individual needs and free from hormones.

KadeHydro products Your support for vaginal dryness
KadeHydro moisturising gel with hyaluronic acid provides relief for mild to moderate discomfort caused by dryness of the vagina or surrounding intimate area. These include
- vaginal irritation and dryness
- vaginal burning and pain during or after sexual intercourse
- burning and itching, for example, in and around the vaginal opening or the vaginal vestibule
For more severe symptoms caused by vaginal dryness, the rich KadeHydro moisturising ovules (vaginal suppositories) can be used – alone or in combination with KadeHydro moisturising cream for the external intimate area!
The moisturising cream and moisturising ovules provide a more intensive hydration and nourishment and help regenerate the dry skin in the intimate area. In addition to hyaluronic acid, they also contain skin-like lipids.
More severe symptoms caused by vaginal dryness may manifest as follows:
Vaginal discomfort
- pain during and after sexual intercourse (dyspareunia) and bleeding
- severe dryness with itching and small tears in the vaginal skin or around the vaginal opening
- pain during physical activity and pressure sensitivity of the vulva
Vulva (external genital area):
- burning and pain, for example, of the labia or clitoris
- increased sensitivity to physical and chemical stimuli
- pain and burning during urination
All KadeHydro products are available over the counter from pharmacies.
FAQs

Symptoms caused by dryness in the intimate area can vary in type and severity. The use of moisturising preparations containing hyaluronic acid, alone or in combination with nourishing lipids, can alleviate discomfort. Several options are available to women, depending on the severity of the dryness-related symptoms and the individual needs.
KadeHydro moisturising gel (KadeHydro Befeuchtungsgel) with hyaluronic acid is suitable for all women experiencing mild to moderate discomfort caused by vaginal and vulvar dryness. It is especially suitable for women shortly before or during the menopause, while breastfeeding or when using the mini pill for contraception. The water-based gel can also be used as a lubricant with condoms.
With increasing or persistent dryness in the intimate area, the skin requires nourishment (e.g. with skin-like lipids) in addition to moisturising. KadeHydro moisturising ovules are particularly suitable for women experiencing severe discomfort caused by vulvovaginal dryness. This often affects women during and after the menopause or following a recovery from cancer as well as during or after radiotherapy, chemotherapy or an anti-hormone therapy. For the care and regeneration of dry skin in the external intimate area, the use of KadeHydro moisturising cream (KadeHydro Befeuchtungscreme) is recommended – ideally in combination with KadeHydro moisturising ovules (KadeHydro Befeuchtungsovula).
Yes. KadeHydro moisturising gel (KadeHydro Befeuchtungsgels) can be applied to the entrance of the vagina prior to sexual intercourse. Discomfort during or after sexual intercourse is often due to the loss of moisture, which can lead to pain after mechanical irritation (when the penis penetrates the vagina) of the sensitive skin of the vagina. After application, the lubricating effect of KadeHydro moisturising gel facilitates penetration during sex.
No. When using latex condoms (natural rubber latex) or latex diaphragms, application immediately before sexual intercourse is not recommended. The cream may reduce the tear resistance of latex.
No. KadeHydro moisturising ovules (KadeHydro Befeuchtungsovula) may reduce the effectiveness of contraceptives made of latex. KadeHydro moisturising ovules should therefore not be used together with condoms or pessaries made of latex (natural rubber latex).
Yes, as KadeHydro products are free from hormones (oestrogens). They can therefore also be used alongside a systemic hormone replacement therapy or alternating with a vaginal hormone replacement therapy.
